The Challenge
Monitoring notifications and battery state on Android means working with permissions and background execution limits that tighten with every OS release. A cross-platform framework alone does not expose these APIs.
Background work is also the first thing Android kills to save power, so a naive implementation simply stops running after a while without telling anyone.
Our Solution
The parts that need direct platform access are written natively in Kotlin and bridged to the app, keeping the shared codebase for everything else.
Background monitoring is built around Android's current restrictions rather than fighting them, and the app is explicit about which permissions it needs and why — permissions of this kind deserve an honest explanation, not a silent request.
